    09.08.2026: In celebration of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Abhiyan, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Verma joined officers and staff of Lok Bhavan and police personnel in singing the National Song, National Anthem and the State Song while holding the National Flag at Lok Bhavan Mumbai. Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware and other senior officers were also present. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is being celebrated from August 9–17, 2026 and to mark the 150 years of Vande Mataram. The National Flag was also hoisted on the important heritage buildings in Lok Bhavan like the Darbar Hall, Jal Vihar and others.

    09.08.2026: Maharashtra Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Varma today addressed the concluding session of the four-day IIMUN Championship Conference, organised in Mumbai for young people from Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Interacting with the young participants, the Governor emphasised that questioning and seeking answers rather than accepting everything as it is is not a Western concept, but an intrinsic part of the Indian intellectual tradition. He said that India’s civilisation has always encouraged inquiry, debate and the pursuit of knowledge. IIMUN Founder Rishabh Shah delivered the introductory remarks. Mentors Abhishek Dhawan, Anjani Raipat and Stuti Tak were also present on the occasion.

    08.08.2026:  Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma today inaugurated a one-day National Seminar on ‘The Legacy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’, organised to commemorate the 350th martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur at the Punjab Heritage Bhavan in CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The seminar was jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, and the Punjabi Cultural and Welfare Association, Navi Mumbai. A video message from Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also screened on the occasion. Minister of Forest Ganesh Naik, MLA Mandatai Mhatre, Navi Mumbai Mayor Sujata Patil, President of the Sahitya Akademi Madhav Kaushik, Vice-President Kumud Sharma, Chairman of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi Kuldeep Chandra Agnihotri, Sahitya Akademi Secretary Varun Gulati, Administrator of Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Vijay Satbir Singh, Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware and a large number of litterateurs, scholars and distinguished members of the Sikh community were present.

    07.08.2026: Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma was presented the first copy of the Hindi translated book 'Agnishikha Sushma Swaraj' at Lok Bhavan Mumbai. The book written originally in Marathi by Dr Medha Somaiya has been translated in Hindi by Amarjeet Mishra.  Speaking on the occasion, the Governor described former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj as a multifaceted genius who left her distinct imprint on every position that she held in her long and illustrious political career.     05.08.2026:  Governor Jishnu Dev Varma presented the National Integration and Social Harmony Award to Palga Rinpoche, the 8th reincarnate Lama of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition from Ladakh, and senior thinker Indresh Kumar in recognition of their contribution to promoting peace, national integration and social harmony at a function in Mumbai. The programme was organised at the initiative of Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Shri Anna Bansode. Representatives of various faiths, members of the Buddhist Sangha and invited dignitaries were present on the occasion. The Governor presented Kathina robes (Chivar Daan) to Buddhist monks on the occasion.

    04.08.2026: The traditional Sri Gundi Devi Yatra fair held annually in the Maharashtra Lok Bhavan premises in Mumbai commenced with a ceremonial puja conducted by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Tue (4 Aug).The Governor visited the Sri Gundi Devi Temple, where he offered prayers and performed the aarti. He had the darshan of Goddess Mahalakshmi, Lord Rama, and Lord Hanuman located within the temple complex.A large number of devotees from the Koli community from Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and nearby areas visited the temple.Minister for Ports Development Nitesh Rane, Minister for Skill Development Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde also offered prayers to Goddess Sri Gundi.The Sri Gundi Devi of Lok Bhavan is also known as Sakalai Devi and Sagarmata. This one-day annual yatra is held on the first Tuesday following Guru Purnima. Adequate security arrangements were made by the police for the smooth conduct of the festival.
