05.08.2026: Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma joined by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar and other ministers felicitated the members of India’s first National Blind Women’s Cricket Team at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. The felicitation was organised to celebrate the success of the Blind Women's team that won the Blind Women's T 20 World Cup. The Special Screening of a film 'Dekh Le ! India' that depicts the journey of blind women's national team was also organised.
Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Ram Shinde, Minister of Protocol Jaykumar Rawal, Minister for Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare, Mayor of Mumbai Ritu Tawde, Vice Chancellor of SNDT Women’s University Dr. Ujjwala Chakradev and members of the Blind Women's National team and students of various schools and colleges were present.
