The Governor was addressing a Convention of Journalists organised by the Marathi Patrakar Sangh at the Y.B. Chavan Auditorium in Mumbai.     09.06.2026: The Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma paid floral tributes to the statue of Krantisurya Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion his 126th Martyrdom Day at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. The Governor, along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, also paid floral tributes to the portraits of 15 Tribal Revolutionaries and planted a sapling on the occasion. A documentary film depicting the sacrifice and legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was screened during the programme. Tribal artists presented traditional folk dances, while several artists shared their experiences and thoughts. Tribal Development Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Zirwal, Minister of State for Tribal Development Indranil Naik, Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly from tribal communities, senior Tarpa Musician and folk artist Padma Shri Bhiklya Dhinda, as well as other invited guests were present.

    05.06.2026: Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma presided over a programme organised on the occasion of World Environment Day at Bandra Mumbai. The programme was organized by the Bhamla Foundation. The Governor presented the Environment Leadership Awards to distinguished personalities from various fields who have contributed to environmental causes. The Governor also released a nationwide environmental awareness campaign and unveiled the song “Bhoomi Namaskar”.  written by Prasoon Joshi and directed by R. Balki. Gaur Gopal Das, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Vikas Khanna, Vijay Karia, Sujit Patil, Seema Singh, Himesh Reshammiya, actors Malaika Arora, Sonu Sood, Vedang Raina, along with environmental enthusiasts and other dignitaries were present.

    03.06.2026: The State Foundation Days of Telangana was celebrated through cultural performances at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan today in the presence of Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. 
Organised in collaboration with the Verma Foundation and the Federation of Telugu Associations of Maharashtra (F-TAM), the programme featured artists associated with the organizations presenting folk songs and traditional dances of Telangana, showcasing the cultural heritage of the State. 
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma said that celebrating the State Foundation Days of different States provides an opportunity to appreciate their unique cultures and traditions and helps strengthen the spirit of national integration. The former Judicial Member of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Justice (Retd.) Madan Gosavi; noted film producer Ram Gopal Varma; President of Verma Foundation P. U. N. Varma; Founder of Marathi-Telugu Manch and President of the Federation of Telugu Associations of Maharashtra, Jagan Babu Ganji; Deputy Secretary to the Governor S. Ramamurthy; Family Manager to the Governor Dr. Nishikant Deshpande; Natya Shiromani Sheikh Nadia from Nellore; and members of various organizations from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

    01.06.2026:The State Foundation Days of Sikkim and Goa were celebrated through cultural performances at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan today in the presence of Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. Organised in collaboration with the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills University, the programme featured students of the University presenting folk songs and traditional dances of Sikkim and Goa, showcasing the cultural heritage of the two States.
