    19.04.2026:   Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated mobile clinics and ambulance services for tribal and remote areas of Palghar district at Osarvira village, Dahanu taluka, under the joint initiative of Vanbandhu Trust and Bharat Vikas Sangam. While envisioning India as a developed nation, it is imperative to uplift the last segment of society and bring them into the mainstream. Without the holistic development of Palghar, the dream of a Viksit Bharat cannot be fulfilled, stated Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma today at Dahanu.     16.04.2026: President of India Droupadi Murmu presided over the sixth convocation ceremony of the Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University in Wardha.     15.04.2026:President of India Droupadi Murmu  presided over the second convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was held in Nagpur.   Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav, AIIMS Nagpur President Dr. Anant Pandhare, and Executive Director Dr. Prashant Joshi, professors, students  were present. President Droupadi Murmu conferred degrees symbolically upon eight students who had excelled in various courses. Subsequently, a total of 210 students were awarded degrees and gold medals in recognition of their academic achievements. These included 129 MBBS graduates, 29 MD/MS, 35 B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing, 5 M.Sc., and 12 graduates from allied and healthcare branches.

    14 04 2026 :  Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma accompanied by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the Chaityabhumi Memorial of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar and garlanded the bust of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the Architect of the Constitution in Mumbai. The ‘Trisharan Buddha Vandana’ was recited on the occasion. The Governor and the Chief Minister visited the exhibition of rare photographs of Dr Ambedkar put up by the Municipal Corporation and later offered flowers at the Bheem Jyot. The Governor presented the holy clothes (Chivar) to the Buddhist monks on the occasion.     14 04 2026 : Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the FIre Service Week on the occasion of National Fire Service Day at Lok Bhavan Mumbai.  Twelve fire officers and personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, MIDC and Maharashtra Fire Services were conferred the President’s Fire Service Medals by the Governor for their distinguished service. Earlier Director of Maharashtra Fire Services, Santosh Warik, pinned the Fire Service Flag badge on the Governor’s jacket. Director Santosh Warik delivered the introductory remarks, while Chief Fire Officer of Mumbai Fire Brigade, Ravindra Ambulgekar, proposed the vote of thanks.

    13.04.2026: The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of Universities Jishnu Dev Varma, emphasized that only one or two universities from the state currently feature in national rankings, and this scenario must change. He noted that although cluster universities are relatively new, their affiliated colleges are well-established and reputed. Therefore, these universities must make concerted efforts to improve their standing in national rankings.
The Governor was speaking at a review meeting of four cluster universities of the state held at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hemlata Bagla, Vice-Chancellor of HSNC University; Prof. Rajneesh Kamat, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Homi Bhabha State University; Chandrakant Dalvi, Provost, and Dr. Gnyandev Mhaske, Vice-Chancellor of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara; and Dr. D. T. Shirke, Vice-Chancellor of Warana University, Warananagar along with other university officials. Highlighting the goal of a Viksit Bharat, the Governor stressed the need for complete eradication of tuberculosis (TB). He urged cluster universities to actively involve students in the “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” He suggested organizing poster competitions, jingles in Marathi and Hindi, and other innovative activities to promote awareness. During the meeting, the universities made presentations covering implementation of the National Education Policy, innovative courses, best practices, research projects, skill-based programmes, student enrolment, notable achievements, and collaborations with national and international institutions.
