03.06.2026: Padmashri Murlikant Petkar and senior journalist-editor Priti Sompura present their books to Governor

03.06.2026: India’s first Paralympic Gold Medalist and Havildar Padmashri Murlikant Petkar (Retd.) and Senior journalist and editor Priti Sompura met the Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai.
Padmashri Murlikant Petkar presented his biography “The Murlikant Petkar Story: Defying the Bullet” authored by Ujjwala Barve and its Marathi translation to the Governor on this occasion. Priti Sompura presented two books ‘Bachaposh’ and ‘Chulbuli Joya’ authored by her to the Governor. According to her, ‘Bachaposh’ highlights the hidden Afghan practice where girls are compelled to live as boys, revealing the deep psychological and social trauma of those caught between two identities. ‘Chulbuli Joya’ is a suspense thriller based on the world of drugs, cinema, and law enforcement.
