    Rs 1000 cr provision for Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad railway route: PM Narendra Modi

    Execution of air services from Solapur through Udan Scheme soon.

    Solapur, Jan 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday announced to make provision of Rs 1000 crore for Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad railway route besides assuring early air services from Solapur as the development work of four airports under Udan Scheme is progressing faster.

    He said that the government is committed to “sab ka saath- sab ka vikas” and implementing schemes to bring the poor, working class, and middle class citizens at par on the path of development.

    Prime Minister Modi dedicated Solapur-Tuljapur_Osmanabad four-lane highway, underground sewage system and three waste water processing systems under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan besides performing bhumipujan of 30000 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

    Modi also performed bhumipujan of Solapur Smart City water supply and sanitation system, consolidating the system of water supply to Solapur from Ujani dam, and underground sewage plant under AMRUT Yojana.

    Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis, Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Revenue Minister Chandrakant Patil, Coopreative Minsiter Subhash Deshmukh, Guardian Minsiter Vijay Deshmukh, MP Sharad Bansode, Mayor Shobha Banshetti, former MLA Narsayya Adam shared the dais on the occasion.

    Starting his speech in Marathi with Solapuri accent, Prime Minister Modi established a strong connect with audience gathered in large number to listen to him. He said that the government has almost fulfilled the assurances given to the people of Solapur by providing electricity, water and roads through rural road scheme, national highways authority, and saubhagya yojana. Some remaining things will also be taken care of, he assured.

    Solapur will get all the facilities under the Smart City project, the Prime Minister said adding that works worth crores of rupees are going in the country under the Smart City plan. In coming days, the ten most developing cities in the world will be from our country, he added. This government has concentrated on development goal and wanted to establish the culture of development for all with participation of all, he added.

    Prime Minister said that with the balanced development the picture of the country would have been different. He added that the government intended to develop basic facilities well in time and with speed and extend their benefits to the common people with priority while dedicating the Solapur-Osmanabad four lane national highway to the nation. This will help the people in great way. The national highway works would ensure employment to local people and the youth have got better jobs under Bharat Mala project.

    The government has decided to provide house to every citizen under the PMAY. IN the last four year 14 lakh houses were built and in the coming period 37 lakh houses would be built, the Prime Minister said. This speed has helped the common people to fulfil their dreams of owning a house, Modi said. On this occasion the Prime Minister handed over the cheques to two women beneficiaries in Ray-Nagar Housing Society as representative gesture.

    Most works were completed in the period of this government the PM said adding that out of the 1.30 lakh km roads constructed so far the present government has built 40000 km roads in last four and half years. Besides, doubling of railway tracks, four-laning and electrification were done by his government. We have concentrated on the development of the entire country and not a particular area or region, he clarified.

    Importance is laid on developing air traffic also. Common people now can fly in Udan Scheme. The work of developing four airports in the state is going on and soon air service from Solapur will also be functional, he assured.

    Referring to the Centre’s decision to provide 10 percent quota to general category citizens he said that this will provide opportunity of development to them and erase the feeling of injustice from their minds. He hoped that this bill will be passed by the Rajya Sabha also. He praised Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis for his zeal and working style.

    In his address Chief Minister Fadanvis said that state and the central government are committed to development of Solapur city. Works worth Rs 1000 crore are launched today. The cities are generating employment opportunities. The Central has sanctioned Rs 450 crore for potable water supply scheme. With water supply from Ujanai dam, the difficulties of the people will be erased. Processed waste water will be given to national thermal power generation project. Therefore, Ujani dam water can be diverted for irrigation.

    Development works are going on under Smart City project. 30000 houses are constructed under the PMAY and no difficulties will hamper these works, he assured. Basic facilities for these houses will be provided through AMRUT Yojana with the cooperation of Cooperative Minister and Guardian Minister, he said. This government has completed the works started earlier in its tenure. The development of ‘Palkhi Marg’ has provided convenience to lakhs of “Warkaries”. We are committed to make our state excellent and we will accomplish this target with the help of the central government, he added. He also referred to the central government’s help to tide over drought situation in the state. He thanked Prime Minister Modi for sanctioning Solapur-Tuljapur-Osmanabad railway route.

    Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave information about the road development decisions for the development of district. The work on ‘Sant Tukaram maharaj and Sant Gyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi’ routes are going on for the convenience of warkaris. With thousands of crore road works going on in the district the local youth are getting better job opportunities, he added.

    He advised the sugar factories to go in for production of ethanol to overcome the financial crisis caused due to bumper sugar cane production and increased number of sugar factories. Government has decided the MSP of sugar at Rs 29.

    Guardian Minster Deshmukh made the introductory remarks and gave information about development works going on in the district. Sri Adam also spoke on the occasion.

    Earlier, Chief Minister Fadanvis welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi with traditional ‘Pagdi’, ‘Ghongdi’ handwritten copy of Bhagwadgita, and a sword. A video film related to this program was screened. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Manasi Sontakke. People from all walks of life, senior officers, and citizens were present on this occasion.
