    Governor Koshyari calls for efforts to fulfill the dream of Abdul Kalam

    APJ Abdul Kalam remembered on 88th Birth Anniversary

    The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari today described former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam as ‘a Complete Man’ and called for efforts to fulfill Kalam’s vision of India 2020.

    The Governor was speaking at a programme organized to pay tribute to Dr Abdul Kalam on his 88th birth anniversary at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai. The Birth Anniversary was celebrated as ‘Vachan Prerana Diwas’ in Maharashtra to promote the culture of reading.

    The Governor said Kalam was not only a great scientist, but he was a thinker and writer who visualized India as a great power. He appealed to the people to read the literature of Dr Kalam to draw inspiration from the life and work of the former President of India.

    Earlier the Governor offered floral tributes at the portrait of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and saw the books exhibited near his photograph.

    Officers and staff of Raj Bhavan read out excerpts from the writings of Savitribai Phule, Albert Einstein, Sudha Murthy, Vinit Agarwal and other writers on this occasion.

    Principal Secretary to the Governor Santosh Kumar, Officer on Special Duty Rakesh Naithani, Deputy Secretaries Ranjit Kumar and Prachi Jambhekar and others were present.
