    Consul General of United States and Poland call on Governor Koshyari

    The Consul General of the United States of America David Ranz and the Consul General of the Republic of Poland Damian Irzyk today called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai separately.

    The US Consul General told the Governor that while strengthening multilateral cooperation with Maharashtra, he is laying focus on increasing trade and investment between India and the United States. He told the Governor that about 200,000 Indian students are pursuing higher education in the United States.

    The Governor said that the recent meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had further strengthened the relations between the two countries.

    India – Poland to have direct air connectivity;

    The Consul General of Poland in Mumbai Damian Irzyk told the Governor that many Polish companies are working in Maharashtra. He said direct air connectivity between India and Poland will enhance business, trade and tourism between the two countries.

    The Consul General told the Governor that a group of Polish refugees had lived in Kolhapur after the Second World War. He said that the surviving refugees have fond memories of Kolhapur.
