GovernorKoshyari confers Honorary D.Litt. on Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi

Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhiwas presented the Honorary Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) at a Special ConvocationCeremony held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Friday (25 th Mar). Maharashtra Governor Bhagat SinghKoshyari presented the Honorary D.Litt. to Prof Mukhi in recognition of hiscontribution to public life. TheHonorary D.Litt. was presented to Prof Mukhi on behalf of the ShriJagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala (JJT) University headquartered at Jhunujhunuin Rajasthan. Speakingon the occasion, Governor Koshyari hailed Prof Jagdish Mukhi for his long yearsof services to the nation. Prof Jagdish Mukhi praised the JJT University forits work towards women empowerment. Chairperson of the Shri JJTUniversity Dr Vinod Tibrewala was present on the occasion, while EducationDirector Dr Vanashri Valecha read out the citation. ProfJagdish Mukhi was a member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly for sevenconsecutive terms from Janakpuri. He served as a Minister in the Government ofDelhi. He was awarded the ‘Best Finance Minister in the country’ award at thehands of then Union Minister Pranab Mukherji. Prof Mukhi served as Lt Governorof Andaman and Nikobar before his appointment as Governor of Assam.
