Governor Koshyari offers tribute to Lokmanya Tilak on Tilak Jayanti

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari offered floral tributes to Lokmanya Tilak on the occasion of 166th birth anniversary of Tilak at the Lokmanya Tilak Memorial at Girgaum Chowpatty Mumbai on Saturday (23 July).

The year being the Platinum Jubilee of India’s Independence, the Governor unfurled the National Tricolour near the life size statue of Lokmanya Tilak and planted a sapling on the occasion.

Chairman of the Lokmanya Tilak Swarajya Bhoomi Smarak Samiti Prakash Silam, office bearers of the Samiti and municipal and police officials were present.

The memorial of Lokmanya Tilak stands at Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai at the site where Lokmanya Tilak was cremated after his demise on 1st August 1920.
