12.05.2026: Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma, today visited the art exhibition “Bhumija — Born of the Earth”, a solo showcase by national award-winning artist Smt. Tapati Bhowmik Majumdar at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. Smt. Tapati Bhowmik Majumdar welcomed the Governor on this occasion. The exhibition, running from May 12–18, 2026, presents intricate contemporary works inspired by nature, indigenous textiles, and traditional motifs. Governor admired the creativity and depth of the artworks, appreciating the artist’s contribution to India’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. Smt. Jayati Bhatia, Actress, Maruti Shelke, Artist & Prof. in Sir J J School of Art and National award-winning artist Smt. Tapati Bhowmik Majumdar and artisits were present.

Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the painting exhibition ‘Bhoomija— Born of the Earth’ by renowned national award winning artist Tapati Bhowmik Majumder at Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai on Tue (12 May).

The Governor visited the exhibition and appreciated the artworks and the art style created by Tapati Bhowmik Majumder.

Senior artist and Prof. Maruti Shelke of Sir J J School of Art, senior actress Jayati Bhatia, Sadhvi Majumder and art lovers were present. The exhibition will remain open till 18 May.
