Delegation of Nomadic Tribes meet Maharashtra Governor
A delegation of the Bhatke Vimukt Vikas Parishad, led by its President Uddhav Kale, called on Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan, Mumbai and discussed various issues concerning the extremely backward nomadic and denotified communities in the State.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed issues related to education, healthcare and government documentation for members of the nomadic and denotified communities. The Parishad invited the Governor to visit the Eklavya Vidya Sankul at Yamgarwadi in Tuljapur taluka of Dharashiv district. The delegation also invited the Governor to attend a programme for distribution of caste certificates, Aadhaar cards and other documents on the occasion of Vimukt Day on 31 August.
The Governor informed the delegation that representatives of the extremely backward nomadic and denotified communities in the State would be invited to Lok Bhavan to understand and discuss their problems.
Working President of the Bhatke Vimukt Vikas Parishad Dr Sanjay Puri, General Secretary Narsing Zhare, Treasurer Naresh Pote, Vidarbha Coordinator Rajendra Donadkar, Regional Co-Coordinator Sharad Makhar and Rahul Chavan were present on the occasion.
