    Gondia, February 11:- “The Parliament has passed the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill which will help women participate in the Parliament and Legislature of States in large numbers. It is with the help of women’s power that developed India will be marching ahead towards becoming stronger and achieving the goals set for the Amrit Kal,” said Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhad.

    The Vice -President was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized here at the Dhote Bandhu Science College to mark the 118 birth anniversary of late Manohar Bhai Patel. Wife of the Vice- President Dr Sudesh Dhankhad, Governor Mr Ramesh Bais, Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde, food and Drugs Administration minister and the guardian minister DharmaRao Baba Atram, Member of Parliament Prafull Patel, Sunil Mendhe, Dr Shrikant Shinde, Dr C Ramesh, legislators Vinod Agrawal, Vijay Rahangadale, Raju Karemore, president of Zilla Parishad Pankaj Rahangadale, chairman of Gondia Shikshan Sanstha Varsha Patel and other dignitaries were among those who graced the occasion.

    Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the goal of achieving overall development of the nation till 2047- the Amrit Kal, the Vice -President said that the contribution of women in this development is going to be remarkable. He further said during the recent Republic Day program conducted in New Delhi, women lead various March pasts and showed the world that women power needs to be underlined.

    The union government tabled the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill in the new building of parliament in January this year which will provide 33 percent reservation to women in politics and this is an important step ahead while marching on the part of overall development. He further said that it is because of this law that the participation of women is going to increase in the Parliament and legislatures of various States and they are going to play an important role in the way ahead of developed India.

    The Vice- President said that in the last decade India has made economic progress with a greater pace and became the fifth economy of the world, adding that women contributed a lot in this progress, too. The Vice- President Mr Dhankhad exuded confidence that India is going to become the third economy of the world leaving Germany and Japan well behind. He further said that the union government is giving rupees six thousand every year to the farmers of the nation through the Kisan Samman Yojana and Maharashtra government has further added an equal amount for every farmer under the Namo Shetkari sanmaan Yojana. This has proved to be a solace for the farmers. He also said that the state government is standing firmly with the farmers and it is witnessed when the farmers are provided the Crop Insurance for just 1 Rupee. The Vice- President appreciating the move said that through this scheme, Maharashtra has done commendable job which is a guiding force for the entire nation.

    The Vice -President further said that education is a medium of bringing about change and overcoming the disparity in the society. He said that Manohar Bhai Patel had started many schools and colleges in Gondia district and paved a broad way of education in this region. He expressed satisfaction that the work done by Manohar Bhai Patel is really ideal and the Gondia Shikshan Sanstha has been successfully taking ahead his legacy by faithful and honest work.

    30 crores for Gondia Municipal Council -Chief Minister Shinde

    Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde said the son of Gondia Manohar Bhai Patel has a Lion’s share in the development of West Vidarbha region and the education, irrigation, Industrial and other sectors have been given a face lift because of him. He further said that right from the Municipal Council to the Member of Parliament and member of state legislature, the work of Manohar Bhai Patel is remarkable. He said that he has worked a lot at grass loot level through Municipal Council of Gondia and as such the government will be giving RS 30 crore for construction of a well- equipped building for the Gondia Municipal Council.

    Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde further said that keeping the ideal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj before the eyes, the state government is working in the interest of common people with greater speed. He said that the state is leading the entire nation in the field of agriculture, industry, education and infrastructure. He also said that the proposals of the state government are getting green signal from the union government and this has accelerated the work of various projects and schemes in the state. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ,the union government has pledged to make India a 5 trillion dollar economy and Maharashtra is going to contribute 1 trillion dollar in it, adding that the state is marching ahead to achieve this goal.
