    “India tackled Covid 19 pandemic better because of spirit of service and compassion”: Governor

    Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today remarked that India tackled the Covid-19 pandemic better than many other countries because of the spirit of compassion and acts of selfless service by the people of the country.

    He complimented the Corona Warriors for regarding service to mankind as service to God.

    The Governor was speaking at the felicitation of Corona Warriors organized by Bhartiya Vikas Sansthan at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Tuesday (8th Dec).

    The Governor said people of India are inheritors of the teachings of compassion preached and practiced by Bhagwan Buddha.

    He said Vivekananda had said service to mankind is service to God.

    This spirit of compassion and service to mankind was demonstrated by the people during the Corona Virus pandemic, the Governor said.

    The Governor complimented the Chairman of the Bharatiya Vikas Sansthan Dr Yogesh Dube for organizing the felicitation of Corona Warriors and for serving the people during the pandemic.

    Member of Parliament Gopal Shetty, Chairman of Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission M A Sayeed, Chest physician Dr Sanjeev Mehta, CEO of Wockhardt Hospital Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Dr Nimesh Mehta, Nephrologist Dr Sandip Bhurke, were prominent among those felicitated by the Governor.

    The Governor also felicitated Divyang social worker Ramesh Prakash Sartape, Veterinary doctor Dr Kishor Batwe, Medscape India, Dr Shruti and Rakesh, K K Singh, Deepak Vishwakarma, Gayatri Foundation for their outstanding work during the Corona pandemic.
