Editors, Journalists felicitated by Governor on ‘Patrakar Din’
Editors and journalists representing a cross section of the media in Maharashtra were felicitated by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on the occasion of ‘Patrakar Din’ at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Wednesday (6th Dec).
The felicitation of editors, journalists and social workers was organized by the Maharashtra Rajya Marathi Patrakar Sangh on the occasion of Journalists’ Day.
Paying tributes to the founder editor of Marathi periodical ‘Darpan’, Balshastri Jambhekar, the Governor complimented journalists for awakening the nation on issues of national and international interest. In a compliment to journalists Koshyari said, ‘Jahan Na Pahunche Sarkar, Wahan Pahunche Patrakar’
Stating that at times, journalists have to face resistance for telling the truth, he called upon journalists to continue to work for awakening and enlightening Maharashtra.
Chairman of Pudhari Dr Yogesh Jadhav, Group Editor of Lokmat Vijay Baviskar, Associate Editor of Loksatta Sandeep Acharya, Editor of Nagpur Edition of Lokmat Shrimant Mane, senior journalist Ashutosh Patil, Deepak Bhatuse, Sandeep Kale, Pawan Deshpande, Dnyanada Kadam, Nikhila Mhatre and Rupali Barve were prominent among those felicitated on the occasion.
Film star Swapnil Joshi, Maha NGO Federation Director Shekhar Mundada, Regional Executive President of Maharashtra Rajya Marathi Patrakar Sangh Kiran Joshi, Coordinator Kiran Bhokre were present on the occasion.
Complimenting the journalists, the Governor said along with doctors, nurses, health workers, police and sanitation workers and others, journalists did dedicated work during the Covid – 19 pandemic period.
