    Maharashtra Governor presents top awards at MIFF 2022

    Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presided over the Concluding function and prize distribution ceremony of the Mumbai International Film Festival for Short Fiction, Documentary and Animation Films MIFF 2022 at Nehru Centre Mumbai on Sat (4 Jun)

    The Governor presented the Golden Conch award for best documentary film ‘Turn Your Body to the Sun’ while the Silver Conch award was presented jointly to two Best Short films ‘Saakshatkaram’ (Malayalam) and ‘Brother Toll’. The Best Animation Film award was given to ‘Prince in a Pastry Shop’ (Poland). The last award was accepted by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Mumbai Damian Irzyk.

    Speaking on the occasion the Governor said short fiction, documentary and animation films reflect the mirror impressions of society. He said the films should have the larger purpose of betterment of society. He said the films should be inspirational and enlightening while entertaining audiences.

    Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan presented the National Category awards. Renowned film director Shyam Benegal, Director General of Press Information Bureau Manish Desai and MIFF 2022 director Ravinder Bhakar were prominent among those present.
