    Polish Ambassador meets Maharashtra Governor

    “Direct flights between Warsaw – Mumbai will promote business, tourism”: Ambassador Burakowski

    The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to India Prof Adam Burakowski today said that the establishment of direct air connectivity between Warsaw and Mumbai will promote business and tourism between Poland and India.

    The Polish Ambassador was speaking to Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Wed (1 Jun). The Consul General of Poland in Mumbai Damian Irzyk was also present.

    The Ambassador told the Governor that the first direct flight from the Polish capital of Warsaw landed in Mumbai on 31st May. The flights by Polish airlines will operate thrice a week, he added.

    The Ambassador told the Governor that there are 40,000 Indians living in Poland and contributing to various walks of life. He said Poland has a very strong bond with Maharashtra as Kolhapur had offered home to Polish refugees in the second world war. He said Poland will be creating a small museum in Kolhapur, he added.
