‘Indian philosophical thought holds secrets of happiness’: Governor
Mumbai, 16th Oct : Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari today called for spreading Indian philosophical thought to the world. Mentioning that Indian culture, alongwith yoga and civilization has caught the imagination of the world, he said Indian phiolosohphy holds secrets of happiness and can help people to live a happy and purposeful life.
The Governor was speaking at the release of the book ‘Come Home to Yourself’ at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Wednesday (16th Oct).
Author of the book Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati, President of Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh Swami Chidanand Saraswati, playback singer Kailash Kher, film stars Anil Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Vivek Oberoi, percussionist Shivamani and industrialist Ashok Hinduja were prominent among those present.
The Governor said ‘Coming Home to Yourself’ is not just a book, it is the essense of life. He said, even though the book is written by an America born English-speaking person, its outlook is entirely Indian.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhvi Bhagavati Saraswati said ‘Coming Home to Yourself’ contains transcriptions of answers from the Satsangs she has given during the last 20 years.
Swami Chidanand Saraswati said real happiness and peace is within ourselves. He gave the pledge of making India ‘plastic free’ on this occasion.
The book ‘Coming Home to Yourself’ written in question – answer format contains chapters: ‘Connecting to the Divine’, ‘Knowing and Finding the Purpose of Human Life’, ‘Success and Spritual Development’, ‘The Path of Spirituality’, ‘Calming and Understanding the Wandering Mind’, Breaking Out of Negative Patterns, ‘Using Anger as a Positive Tool for Action’, ‘How to Deal with Disappointment in our Lives’, ‘Overcoming Fear and Anxiety’, ‘Compassion’, ‘Love’, ‘How to Deal with Loss’, etc. The book has been published by Penguin India.
