    20.05.2026: Governor releases books by Bhiku Idate, Ravindra Prabhudesai

    20.05.2026: Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma released the book 'Pilgrim of Samarasata', a biography of Padmashri Dada Idate, former Chairman of the National Commission for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi Nomadic Tribes at Lok Bhavan Mumbai. 
The biography authored in Marathi by Neelima Deshpande has been rendered in English by Ruturaj Patki. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has written the preface to the book. The Governor also released two books 'Adhunik Shetiche Model' and 'Aaple Konkan' authored by noted business leader and Managing Director of Pitambari Products Dr. Ravindra Prabhudesai at Lok Bhavan Mumbai. Padmashri Ramesh Patange, Patron of Saptahik Vivek, Padmashri Dada Idate, Dr. Ravindra Prabhudesai, along with members of the Samarasata Manch, Vivek Parivar, the Pitambari family were present.

    Governor releases books by Bhiku Idate, Ravindra Prabhudesai

    ‘Pilgrim of Samarasata’, a book by Padma Shri Bhiku (Dada) Idate, Founder President of the Bhatke Vimukt Vikas Parishad and former long-serving Working President of Samarasata Manch, was released by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday (20 May) at Maharashtra Lok Bhavan in Mumbai.

    The book is an English translation of the Marathi work ‘Samarasatecha Warkari’, written by Neelima Deshpande on the life and work of Dada Idate. The translation has been done by Ruturaj Patki. The book carries a foreword by Mohan Bhagwat.

    On the same occasion, the Governor also released two books authored by industrialist and Managing Director of the ‘Pitambari’ Group, Dr. Ravindra Prabhu Desai — ‘Adhunik Shetiche Model’ and ‘Aapla Konkan’.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that Bhiku Idate’s book would help readers understand the Samarasata movement of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. He observed that despite the age of technology, books continue to hold their importance and that reading a physical book remains a wonderful experience.

    The Governor further remarked that the perception that the younger generation does not read books is incorrect. According to him, the younger generation has merely changed the medium of reading.

    He also expressed the hope that gifting books on occasions such as birthdays and weddings should become a tradition.

    In his introductory remarks, Bhiku Idate elaborated on the formation of Samarasata Manch, the various movements undertaken through the platform, the Phule-Ambedkar Sandesh Yatra, and the condition of denotified and nomadic communities.

    Ravindra Prabhu Desai of the ‘Pitambari’ Group also shared information about his books ‘Adhunik Shetiche Model’ and ‘Aapla Konkan’.

    Padma Shri Ramesh Patange, mentor of Hindustan Prakashan Sanstha and the weekly Vivek, along with office bearers of Vivek weekly and the Pitambari Group, were present at the book release function.
