Governor Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurates Solar Energy Project at Lok Bhavan, Nagpur
Taking a significant step towards environmental protection and energy self-reliance, Governor of Maharashtra Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated a state-of-the-art solar energy project at Lok Bhavan, Nagpur on Thursday (16 April).
The project has a capacity of 90 kW and is expected to generate approximately 115,200 units of clean electricity annually.
“Green Energy is the Need of the Future”
Emphasizing the importance of solar energy, the Governor stated that green energy is the need of the future. He noted that such projects not only contribute to environmental protection but also play a crucial role in achieving self-reliance in the energy sector.
He expressed confidence that initiatives like this in an important city such as Nagpur would inspire other institutions and citizens to adopt renewable energy solutions.
The project is expected to reduce dependence on conventional energy sources and significantly lower carbon emissions. It will also result in long-term financial savings through reduced electricity costs.
The project was implemented through the efforts of Additional Comptroller of the Governor’s Household Shri Ramesh Yevale, along with officials from MEDA and engineers from the Public Works (Electrical) Department.
Those present on the occasion included Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Narnaware, Comptroller of the Governor’s Household Dr. Nishikant Deshpande, Private Secretary to the Governor Pawan Singh, Additional Comptroller Ramesh Yevale, Divisional General Manager (MAHAURJA) Sarang Mahajan, as well as engineers, officers, and staff.

• Advanced Technology: Uses SolarEdge (DC Power Optimizer) technology, enabling independent monitoring of each solar panel.
• Enhanced Efficiency: The system remains efficient even if a panel is affected by shade, dust, or technical issues.
• Real-Time Monitoring: Enables real-time tracking of power generation.
