State Lokayukt presents report to Governor

Maharashtra State Lokayukta Justice V. M. Kanade (retd) and Upa Lokayukta Sanjay Bhatia presented the 51th Annual Consolidated Report about the performance of Lokayukta and Upa-Lokayukta for the year, 2023 to State Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Mon (6th Jan).

According to the information provided by the office of Lokayukta, 4790 fresh complaints were registered by the office in the year 2023. There were 4583 cases already pending from the previous year for investigation. Out of the total 9373 cases available for disposal during the year 2023, a total of 4555 registered cases were disposed of during the year leaving behind a balance of 4818 cases at the end of the year 2023.

It was stated that the institution of Lokayukta had succeeded in redressing the grievances of many complainants during the last 5 decades. According to the statement given by the office of Lokayukta, grievances in more than 75% complaints were redressed to the satisfaction of the complainants.
