Governor, CM launch Cleanliness Campaign at Girgaum Chowpatty
Film stars join the cleanliness effort
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde joined hundreds of citizens and volunteers in a massive cleanliness campaign at Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai on Sunday (1 October).
The nationwide Cleanliness campaign, named ‘One Date, One Hour, One Time for Cleanliness’ was launched ahead of the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at various places in the State.
Guardian Minister of Mumbai Deepak Kesarkar, Chief Secretary Manoj Saunik, Brihanmumbai Municipal Administrator Dr I S Chahal, veteran cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar, actors Padmini Kolhapure, Juhi Chawla, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Subodh Bhave, Consul of Israel in Mumbai Kobbi Shoshani, officials of Indian Navy and Coast Guard participated in the cleanliness drive. NCC cadets, Municipal officials and volunteers of various non-governmental organizations also took part in the cleanliness campaign.
