US Congressional Delegation meets Maha Governor
A four member of Congress Delegation (CoDel) from the United States met the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Tuesday (13th Aug).
Congressman George Holding, Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Congresswoman Julia Brownley and Congressman Joe Wilson are visiting India to understand various facets of the country and Indo – U.S. relations.
The delegation told the Governor that 3 million Indian Americans are making handsome contribution to various walks of life in the United States. Stating that the United States and India are working in numerous areas, they expressed the hope that the relations between two of the biggest democracies would further strengthen in the years to come.
Welcoming the delegation to Maharashtra, Governor Vidyasagar Rao said that Maharashtra will welcome cooperation from the United States in the area of renewable energy, tourism and business. He told the delegation that India is committed to further improving the Ease of Doing business. Minister of Tourism Jayakumar Rawal was also present.
