Mumbai dated 18 : The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today patted the country for rapidly marching towards the five trillion dollars economy, which was unthinkable of, about a four and half years ago. He stated that the country’s rating has climbed from one hundred seventieth position to seventy seventh position. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the two days conference organized by the Republic Television Channel. He conducted a detailed review of the ” Positions and Directions of the nation” .

The Governor Shri C Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadanavis, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. At the outset, the Prime Minister expressed condolences for the beraved families of the victims of the hospital accident in Mumbai.

The nation has made startling strides in the past four and half years. Those Indian travelers who traveled by train only now prefer air travel. The country had to purchase one thousand new areoplanes considering the ever increasing ambit of air travel. Prior to that, air travel was carried out through merely four hundred and fifty aeroplanes. common people like Rickshaw Driver, Vegetable vendor and Tea vendor have gone digital through the BHIM App. Water transport, which was not even thought of, has taken off. High speed railway has been tested in the country itself. The country has achieved the goal of releasing one hundred satellites in the space in a single flight . The nation is being applauded in the fields of sports or start up.

Shri Modi asserted that there is amazing difference in the current conditions and those existing prior to year 2014. He further stated that merely forty percent area of the country participated in the cleanliness drive. Currently ninety seven percent of the area is clean. fifty percent of the people in the country did not have bank accounts. Now every family in the country is connected with the banking sector. Earlier sixty five lakhs entrepreneurs registered themselves for tax, and now fifty five lakh new entrepreneurs have registered themselves for tax. Earlier merely two companies manufactured cell phones, now they are one hundred twenty companies manufacturing cell phones .

Many works in the roads, railway and air transport sector have gathered pace. One hundred new airports and helipads are taking shape. Works which were pending for thirty years have been executed. A New India is being created through creation of roads,Metro railway and fly over.

All Round Development in Mumbai :

Many development projects have been kicked off in Mumbai. The twenty two kilometer long Mumbai Transharbour link, Metro corridor, Bullet train and number of vehicles on the Andheri Virar route is being increased. The first proposal for New Mumbai Airport was submitted in November 1997 and a committee was appointed for the same. However this work backtracked for many years. The Prime Minister’s Office jointly discussed with all the concerned departments and succeeded in solving the problems in that project. Work on such projects worth more than twelve lakh crores which were not completed due to lack of coordination have been commenced now. .

Merely laws were passed on some significant matters, without taking any action. Merely eleven states had benefited from Food Security Act. Now all the states and Centrally Administered Territories are taking benefit of this law. Only fifty five percent people used Liquid petroleum gas for household purposes. The remaining population was denied this facility. Now everywhere there is clean fuel. .

Many renowned companies raised loans from the banks and did not repay it by declaring themselves bankrupt. Now significant modifications are carried out in Insolvency and Bankruptcy code. Sick companies have repaid the loan on their own since year 2016. The companies have voluntarily repaid loan worth one lakh seventy five thousand crores. These amendments are effected to bring the non repaying and fleeing individuals from any nook and corner of the world

There is a transperency in the entire system due to implementation of the Goods and Services Tax system, which was demanded to be implemented since a decade. Modifications in tax systems is a challenge before any country. Now this system is well established in our country.

Common tax payer has sighed a relief due to Goods and Services Tax, Ninety nine percent of the goods are within the below eighteen percent tax range and less than one percent of the goods are taxed at more than eighteen percent. These include costly four wheelers, aeroplanes, high class liquor,and Cigarettes.

Ultimately the Prime Minister expressed confidence to built a nation wherein there will be “Education for children, Employment for youth, medicines for aged, and dialogue with the commoners”
