    Newly appointed German Ambassador meets Governor

    The newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to India Walter Lindner called on the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Thursday (6th June).

    The Ambassador told the Governor that the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel is likely to visit India in November this year during which she will also visit Mumbai.

    The Ambassador said, that Germany and India have always enjoyed excellent relations. Mentioning that Germany is partnering with India in cleaning Ganga river, he said Germany is also cooperating with India in renewable energy, agricututre and UNESCO- sponsored project of protecting tigers.

    The Governor said, in his capacity as Chancellor of 20 state-supported universities in Maharashtra, he would welcome cooperation between universities in Germany and those in Maharashtra, especially with the Sanskrit University.

    Consul General of Germany in Mumbai Jurgen Morhard was also present.
