New Australian Consul General calls on State Governor
The newly appointed Consul General of Australia in Mumbai Paul Murphy called on State Governor Ramesh Bais at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Thursday (21 Mar).
Describing India as a trusted partner of Australia, Murphy said apart from enhancing business and trade cooperation, he will strive to promote cooperation between Maharashtra and Australia in the areas of higher education, skill development, audio visual co-production, art and culture.
Stating that cities of Brisbane and Perth are keen to start direct flights to and from Mumbai, he said Australia is keen to promote two way tourism in the years to come.
Welcoming the Consul General to Maharashtra, the Governor expressed the hope that Australia would further enhance cooperation with state universities.
