Maharashtra is the Economic Power House of the Country Everybody should come together for a new and strong Maharashtra.

Mumbai dt 1. : Maharashtra state is the most sought location for domestic and foreign investment, the Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao today asserted that Maharashtra is the Economic Power House of the Country and has played a significant role in the development of infrastructure facilities in the country. The Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao appealed everybody to come together for a new and strong Maharashtra state on the occasion of the 59th foundation day of the Maharashtra state.

The principal official function on occasion of the 59th foundation day of the Maharashtra state on behalf of the state Government took place at Shivaji Park today in the august presence of the Governor. He was addressing the gathering there. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis, Union Minister of State Ramdas Athavale, State School Education Minister Vinod Tawade, Mayor of Mumbai Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Chief Secretary U P S Madan, Director General of Police Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, Principal Secretary to the Protocol Department Nanda Kumar and senior officials of the Police Department, Consulate Generals of various nations and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The Governor extended his Maharashtra Day and the International Labour Day greetings to the people of the state.

The Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao further stated that Maharashtra is a leading state in agriculture, industrial production, commerce and telecommunications, and is included amongst the developed states in the country. He further stated that Mumbai city has immensely contributed in making Maharashtra the number one state in the country. Mumbai city has headquarters and offices of majority banks, industrial groups and financial institutions. The city also boasts of the biggest stock market and the world famous film city. Mumbai is one of the principal ports of the country from where large quantum of foreign trade occurs. It is an important center for industrial production and a service sector hub. Pune city is famous to be the principal center for Information technology and vehicle manufacturing. Nagpur, Kolhapur and Solapur city also are power houses of development.

The state leads in safe cyber service in the country.

The Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao further stated that Maharashtra is leading in implementing the cyber technology safely and in a secure manner and providing safe cyber service to the citizens and industries and businesses in the state. The forward looking, industrious, practical and hardworking citizens of the state are the biggest strength of the state and expressed confidence that Maharashtra will continue its path of peace, progress and inclusive development on the support of its citizens. .

Maharashtra leads in social reforms

The Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao asserted that Maharashtra always lead the social reforms from the front. The state owns a rich legacy of the committed social leaders spending their entire life for social equality, women’s education, women empowerment and abolition of blind faiths. It is only appropriate and proper to remember the great leaders and social reformers of Maharashtra such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule, Rajashri Shahu Maharaj, and Bharat Ratna Dr Bahasaheb Ambedkar , .

Maharashtra’s Diversity shows the picture of entire India

The Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao further stated that Maharashtra’s diversity shows the picture of Entire India. Maharashtra is a state having maximum, percentage of literacy in the country The are best universities and professional education institutions in the state attracting the students, researchers and scholars from all over the globe. Irreverent sea costs, mountain ranges, forests, forts, river valleys and plateaus have added to the natural beauty of the state. The state has animal sancatuaries like Tadoba, Melghat , Pench which are rich in biodiversity Resultantly the state has also attracted tourists on large scale. .

The Armed police force, Riots Control Unit, Women Police force, Target unit, Mumbai Railway Police, Greater Mumbai Traffic police, Fire Brigade, Municipal Corporation Security FOrce, Brass Band unit, Pipe Band Unit offered the guard of honor. The Greater Mumbai Police Force and the vehicles of the Fire Brigade made their presentation. The Hazment vehicle, foam tender vehicle and Mini Foam tender vehicle of the fire brigade also participated in the guard of honor.

Thereafter the Governor Shri Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis and the dignitaries participated in the program organized by the Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation at Sports complex in Mumbai, on the occasion of Maharashtra Day.
