    Maha Governor unfurls National Flag on 69th Anniversary of Republic Day

    The Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao unfurled the National Flag and inspected the ceremonial parade on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Republic Day at the official function organized by Government of Maharashtra at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Saturday 26th January 2019.

    Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth and his wife Kobita Ramdanee Jugnauth were special guests at the Republic Day function in Mumbai.

    The Governor delivered his Republic Day message on this occasion. Minister of Education Vinod Tawde read out the Marathi version of the Governor’s Message.

    In his address, Governor Rao said Maharashtra has received 30% of all Foreign Direct Investment coming to India. He expressed the confidence that Maharashtra will become the first trillion-dollar economy State by 2025.

    Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Haribhau Bagade, Minister of Industries Subhash Desai, Mayor of Mumbai Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, diplomats from various countries, senior officers of the Armed Forces, Police and Administrative Service and citizens were present on the occasion.

    Disciplined columns of the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Central Industrial Security Force, Goa Police, State Reserve Police Force, Mumbai Armed Police, Mumbai Riot Control Police, Mumbai Women Police, Mumbai Railway Police, Mumbai Traffic Police, Mumbai Fire Brigade, Brihanmumbai Municipal Security Force, Forest Department, National Service Scheme, Sea Cadet Corps, Road Safety Patrol, Bharat Scouts and Guides and Brass Bands of Mumbai Police, SRPF, Gr II – Pune, Gr. VIII, Mumbai and Gr. XI Navi Mumbai and Pipe Band of SRPF Gr. I Pune presented a March Past on the occasion.

    Surface to Surface Missile Mounted on Vehicle ( P 21) and Surface to Air Missiles Mounted on vehicle (RZ 61) from the Indian Navy were also displayed.

    Floats of MMRDA, Slum Rehabilitation Authority, MHADA, Maha Vitaran, Agriculture Department (Doubling Farmers’ Income), Blue Green Revolution (Forest Department), MNREGA, Tribal Development Department, State Election Commission, Development of Historic and Cultural Places related to the life of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and float on Plastic Ban Awareness Campaign also participated in the parade.
