Maha Governor presents Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Awards

The Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao presented the Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Awards to selected sportspersons from Maharashtra at a state function held in the backdrop of Gateway of India in Mumbai on Sunday (17th Feb).

The Governor presented the Shiv Chhatrapati Life Time Achievement award to Mallakhamb Coach Uday Deshpande for his efforts in popularizing Malla Khamb in India and abroad.

The Governor also presented the Shiv Chhatrapati Adventure Sports Award to mountaineer Priyanka Mohite. Best Sports Coach and Best Sports Organizations were also honoured.

The Governor offered tributes to the martyrs of Pulwama terrorist attack before the start of the programme. The Governor also garlanded the bust of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion.

Minister for Sports, Culture and Education Vinod Tawde, officials and Shiv Chhatrapti Sports Awardees were present.
