Maha Governor, CM meet Argentina President Mauricio Macri
The Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao and State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received the President of the Argentine Republic Mauricio Macri and his ministerial delegation at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Tuesday (19th Feb).
Wife of the Argentine President, Juliana Awada, wife of Maharashtra Governor, Smt CH. Vinodha and Ministers from Argentina were present.
President Mauricio Macri said his country is ready to sign an agreement with Maharashtra for cooperation in the agriculture sector. He said that Argentina will send a business delegation to Maharashtra to discuss avenues for cooperation in the post-harvesting storage of foodgrains with the help of Argentina’s silo bags.
The President of Argentina assured that Argentina will work with India in the country’s fight against terrorism.
Thanking Argentina’s President for visiting India in this year of completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Governor said Argentina’s cooperation in the agriculture sector will help in doubling the income of farmers by 2022, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the visiting President about the ongoing infrastructure projects in Maharashtra including the creation of Metro Rail Network and the Coastal Road.
