Governor presents Parmarth Ratna Award to Water Activist Amla Ruia
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the Parmarth Ratna Award for 2019 to well known water activist and educationist Amla Ruia in Mumbai on Sunday (20th Oct). The Award was presented at a Deewali Sneh Milan organised by the Parmarth Seva Samiti.
Laxminarayan Biyani, Chairman, Parmarth Seva Samiti, Gopal Biyani, President, Ravi Lalpuria and trustees and invitees were present.
Amla Ruia, founder of Aakar Charitable Trust was instrumental in buildings hundreds of check dams in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and other states and helping people in the effective management of water.
Sajjan Jindal, CMD, Jindal Group and late Bhanvarlal Jain, founder of Jain Irrigation are among the past recipients of the Parmarth Ratna Award
