The Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshyari has called upon the youths to read the life and work of Swami Vivekananda to create a strong and prosperous India.
The Governor was addressing a gathering of students, NSS volunteers and invitees at an event to commemorate the 126th anniversary of the 1893 Chicago address by Swami Vivekananda in Mumbai on Wednesday (11 Sept). The programme was held at the Kalina Campus of the University of Mumbai.
Starting his speech in Marathi, Governor Koshyari complimented the Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ Memorial Trust for organising the ‘Rashtraprem Utsav’ and staging a play on the life of ‘Swami Vivekananda’ to commemorate the historic occasion. The Governor complimented the producer – Director Mujeeb Khan for making an excellent play ‘Swami Vivekananda’.
Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai Dr Suhas Pednekar, Pro Vice Chancellor Ravindra Kulkarni, President, Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’ Memorial Trust Neeraj Kumar, Professor, Viswabharati, Shantiniketan, Dr Subhash Chandra Rai, lawyer R P Singh, Ramakrishna Mission Secretary Swami Satyadevananda, theatre personality Mujeeb Khan, retired head of department of Hindi Prof Ratan Kumar Pandey, Prakash Seelam, and other invitees were present.
