Governor asks State Government to convene a meeting of Crop Insurance Companies

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday (5th) asked the State Government to convene a meeting of concerned Insurance Companies to expedite the settlement of claims of damaged crops.

Leaders of the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party today met the Governor and presented him a memorandum demanding immediate relief to the farmers affected by unseasonal heavy rains in Maharashtra.

At the instance of the Governor, the representation was forwarded by the Principal Secretary to the Governor Santosh Kumar to the State Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta with the above instruction from the Governor.
