Governor appoints Dr Pramod Yeole as new Vice Chancellor of BAMU
The Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of Universities in the State CH. Vidyasagar Rao today (July 15th) appointed Dr Pramod Govindrao Yeole as the new Vice Chancellor of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad (BAMU).
Dr Yeole is presently serving as Pro Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
Dr Yeole has been appointed for a term of five years with effect from the date he assumes the charge of office of the Vice Chancellor or till he attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier.
Dr Pramod Yeole succeeds Dr B. A. Chopade whose term ended on 3rd June 2019. Dr Devanand Shinde, Vice Chancellor, Shivaji University, Kolhapur was holding additional charge of the post of Vice Chancellor of BAMU.
Dr Yeole has served as Professor and Principal at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research at Wardha for 15 years. He was appointed as Pro Vice Chancellor at the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University in June 2015. He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The Governor had constituted a Search Committee under the chairmanship of Justice Anil Dave, former Judge of Supreme Court of India to recommend to him a panel of names suitable for appointment of Vice Chancellor of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
Praveen Kumar, Director of National Institute of Technology, Delhi, and Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra were other members of the Committee. (Dr Pramod Yewale, 9422140127)
