    Governor hosts Independence Day 'At Home' Reception in Pune
    15.08.2026 : On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hosted an ‘At Home Reception’ on the lawns of Lok Bhavan in Pune. The Governor accompanied by his spouse Sudha Dev Varma walked up to the invitees from various walks of life and extended Independence Day greetings to them. MP Shrirang Barne; former Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council and MLA Dr. Neelam Gorhe; former Minister of State Dilip Kamble; General Officer in Command Southern Command Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, Commandant NDA Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi Divisional Commissioner Sheetal Teli-Ugle; Savitribai Phule Pune University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Gosavi and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalkar; Vice Chancellor of CoEP University Prof Sunil Bhirud, Registrar Prof Dayaram Sonavane, former Director General of Police Pravin Dixit; Founder of Janaseva Foundation Dr Vinod Shah, Justice (retd) Madan Gosavi, Judicial Member of NCLT, Padma Shri Girish Prabhune; senior officers from the armed forces and the administration and other distinguished guests. The reception began with the national anthem, national song and state song. Following the refreshments, the programme concluded with the national anthem and national song.
