08.10.2022 : Governor attended the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day

08.10.2022 : Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari attended the World Hospice and Palliative Care Day, organised to highlight the cause of palliative care. The programme was organised by the 'Sukoon Nilaya Palliative Care Centre' and the 'Mumbai Palliative Care Network' under the auspices of the King George V Memorial Trust in Mumbai. Dr L J de Souza, Founder of Shanti Avedna which provides Palliative Care to terminally ill Cancer patients and Dr Marry Ann Muckaden, Radiation Oncologist at Tata Memorial Hospital were felicitated for their pioneering work in Palliative Care.

08.10.2022 : असाध्य आजार असलेल्या ज्येष्ठ नागरिकांना सेवा देणाऱ्या राजे पंचम जॉर्ज स्मृती विश्वस्त संस्थेच्या अधिपत्याखाली मुंबई येथे जागतिक उपशामक रुग्णसेवा दिनाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन नव्याने सुरु केलेल्या बिगर कर्करुग्णांना उपशामक सेवा देणाऱ्या 'सुकून निलाय' रुग्णसेवा केंद्र व 'मुंबई उपशामक रुग्णसेवा नेटवर्क' या संस्थांच्या वतीने करण्यात आले होते. राज्यपालांच्या हस्ते वांद्रे मुंबई येथे असाध्य कर्करुग्णांना सेवा देणाऱ्या 'शांती आवेदना' या संस्थेचे संस्थापक डॉ एल जे डिसुझा व रेडिएशन ऑनकॉलॉजिस्ट डॉ मेरी ऍन मुकादन यांचा त्यांच्या उपशामक रुग्णसेवा क्षेत्रातील पायाभूत कार्यासाठी सत्कार करण्यात आला. यावेळी दिव्यांग प्रौढ मुलांनी नृत्य व नाट्याचे सादरीकरण केले.
