07.12.2024 : Governor inaugurates 75th anniversary of Armed Forces Flag Day
07.12.2024 : On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Armed Forces Flag Day, Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan launched the Armed Forces Flag Fund Collection Drive at Raj Bhavan Mumbai. The programme was organized by the Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban District. The Governor felicitated senior government officers, heads of various public and private institutions and citizens who contributed to raising maximum flag funds during the last year. Konkan Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Deshmukh, Nashik Divisional Commissioner Dr. Praveen Gedam, Nagpur Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Mumbai Collector Sanjay Yadav, Yavatmal Collector Dr. Pankaj Asia etc. were among those honored with mementos by the Governor. Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of Western Naval Command, Principal Secretary GAD Anshu Sinha, Maj. Gen. Bikram Deep Singh, Air Vice Marshal Rajat Mohan were present on the dais. The flag fund is collected for the welfare of the families of the martyrs, for the education of their children and for the rehabilitation of the ex-servicemen.
