04.09.2024: President of India Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the newly constructed Vishwashanti Buddha Vihar in Udgir, Dist Latur. Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Minister of Rural Development Girish Mahajan, Minister of Sports Sanjay Bansode, Minister of Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare, people's representatives and citizens were present. The Buddha Vihara at Udgir is a replica of the Buddha Vihara at Kalburgi in Karnataka. The main entrance is designed like a Sanchi Stupa.
