    Austria offers assistance to Maharashtra in developing tourism industry;

    Ambassador keen to have ties with Sanskrit University

    The Ambassador of Austria in India Brigitte Öppinger-Walchshofer has said that Australia will extend all cooperation to Maharashtra in developing tourism in the State.

    Stating that Austrians love to travel and explore, she said a group of travel agencies in Austria can be invited to Maharashtra to identify and explore tourism opportunities.

    Mentioning that Austria has got world class Cable Car technology, she said the cable car industry can help Maharashtra in connecting historic places including Forts, Hills and pilgrimage towns with cable car.

    The Ambassador was speaking to the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Saturday (6th Oct)

    The Austrian Ambassador told the Governor that Austria is a leader in niche industry, manufacturing high quality products. She added that Austria has top class waste management technology.

    Welcoming the suggestion made by the Governor to promote university level cooperation between universities in Austria and Maharashtra, the Austrian Ambassador expressed her keenness to explore cooperation with the Kavi Kalidasa Sanskrit University in Maharashtra.

    Thanking the Ambassador for her offer of cooperation in tourism and university education, Governor Vidyasagar Rao asked her to take follow up on the proposed ideas.
