    ‘Ajit Wadekar was a bright star of world cricket’: Maha Governor

    The Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao has expressed grief on the demise of former Captain of the Indian Cricket team Ajit Wadekar in Mumbai on Wednesday (15th). In a condolence message, the Governor has said:

    “Shri Ajit Wadekar was one of the most aggressive batsmen and successful captain of the Indian Cricket team. By securing win for the Indian Cricket team on overseas tours, he had boosted the morale of all sportspersons in the country. It can be said that he instilled the ‘can do’ spirit among sportspersons. As Manager of the Indian Cricket team and member of the Selection Committee, Shri Ajit Wadekar continued to make valuable contributions to cricket in India. In his demise, the world of cricket has lost a bright shining star.”
