Spanish Ambassador to India calls on Governor Koshyari; calls for enhancing educational, cultural and tourism cooperation
The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to India Jose Maria Ridao Dominguez called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Monday (29th Nov).
The Ambassador told the Governor that Spain is keen to enhance business and economic cooperation with India while promoting more cultural, educational and tourism exchanges. The Ambassador said there are 500 Spanish speakers worldwide and that a large number of Indian youths are learning Spanish.
The Governor told the Ambassador that Maharashtra has many sites of world heritage such as Ajanta and Ellora Caves that might interest Spanish travelers. He called for starting direct air connectivity between Mumbai and Madrid to facilitate tourism and people to people exchanges.
The Consul General of Spain in Mumbai Fernando Heredia was also present.
