Maharashtra Governor Koshyari presides Golden Jubilee of Lala Lajpatrai College in Mumbai

Describes Lajpatrai as the ‘Lion of India’

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presided over the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics and delivered the Lala Lajpatrai Memorial Lecture on the occasion of birth anniversary of Lajpatrai at the College premises in South Mumbai on Sat (28 ).

Addressing the students and teachers, the Governor said even though the area of work of Lala Lajpatrai was mainly Punjab, he had served the people of India and dedicated his entire life to the cause of the nation. Recalling the multifarious contributions of Lala Lajpatrai to the field of education, social awakening, health and revival of ethical values, the Governor said Lajpatrai was not only the ‘Lion of Punjab’, but also the ‘Lion of India’. The Governor garlanded the bust of Lala Lajpatrai and unveiled the Golden Jubilee plaque on the occasion.

Chairman of the Lala Lajpatrai Memorial Trust Dr Kamal Gupta, Trustees Dr Sunil Gupta, Vinod Gupta and Naresh Gupta, Principal Dr Neelam Arora, Vice Principal Dr Arun Poojari, faculty and students were present.
