Maharashtra Governor presents awards to best performing Panchayat Raj bodies

Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan presented the top State level awards to Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis from the State at the Yashwantrao Chavan Panchayat Raj Abhiyan Prize Distribution programme at Yashwantrao Chavan Centre, Mumbai on Tue (27 May).

Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Jaykumar Gore, Minister of State Yogesh Kadam, Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Eknath Dawale, Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware, Divisional Commissioner, Konkan Dr Vijay Suryawanshi, Deputy Secretary to the Governor S Ramamoorthy, Presidents of Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis of award winning PIs and prize winning officers and staff and their family members were present.

The Governor released the souvenir and offered tributes to the late Chief Minister Y B Chavan on the occasion.

Zilla Parishads Wardha, Amravati and Solapur were presented the top State level prizes while Panchayat Samitis of Kalameshwar, Dist Nagpur, Jamner, Dist Jalgaon and Shirala, Dist Sangli were given the top three prizes for Panchayat Samitis.
