Maharashtra Governor presents State Level Scouts Guides Award Certificates to 145 students
Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presented the State Scouts- Guides Awards Certificates for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20 to 145 Scouts and Guides coming from different districts of Maharashtra at Scouts Guide Pavillion, Shivaji Park, Mumbai on Tue (26 April).
Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare and President of Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guide Sunil Kedar, Minister of State Aaditi Tatkare, State Chief Commissioner Om Prakash Bakoria, State Secretary N.B. Mote and Scouts and Guide Unit Chiefs from across the State were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Koshyari said growing up in a small village in hilly Uttarakhand, he enrolled himself as a scout 65 years ago. Recalling the educational excursions and campfires attended by him as a Scout, Koshyari said the scouting movement teaches one to observe discipline and good conduct.
The Governor appealed to scouts and guides to take pledge to serve the nation without expecting any reward in return.
