Maharashtra Governor announces creation of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Chair in Skill University

Expressing the need to create awareness about the concept of Integral Humanism propounded by Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya among the students and youth, Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of State Universities C P Radhakrishnan announced the creation of a Chair in the name of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya in the Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University.

The Governor made the announcement at the Diamond Jubilee programme organised to commemorate the Articulation of Integral Humanism by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at Ruia College in Mumbai on Fri (25 April).

Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had delivered a lecture series on the concept of Integral Humanism at the Ruia College from 22 – 24 April 1965.

The commemoration programme was organised by the Deen Dayal Research Institute and Lodha Foundation.

The Governor said Pt Upadhyaya propounded his theory of Integral Humanism as a middle path between Communism and Capitalism. He said Pt Upadhyaya was deeply influenced by the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi. He said the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the present Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought the concept of Antyodaya into reality and that the schemes like construction of rural roads, provision of gas connection and drinking water to the people in rural areas were aimed at the welfare of the last person in the socioeconomic order.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha, RSS ideologue Suresh Soni, General Secretary, Deen Dayal Shodh Sansthan Atul Jain and others were present.
