    Governor Koshyari attends 52nd Foundation Day of IDOL; Asks IDOL to strive to become Ideal institution

    Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari presided over the 52nd Foundation Day of the Institute of Distance and Online Learning (IDOL) of the University of Mumbai at the University’s Vidyanagari Campus in Mumbai on Thursday (24 Mar)

    Speaking on the occasion the Governor said online and distance education is more important today than in the past. He called upon IDOL to strive to become an ideal institution by laying thrust on excellence and quality.

    Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai Suhas Pednekar, Pro Vice Chancellor Ravindra Kulkarni, Director of IDOL Prakash Mahanwar, Deputy Director Madhura Kulkarni and heads of various departments were present. Started as the Department of Correspondence Courses with 845 students in 1971, the Institute of Distance and Online today caters to the higher education needs of more than 80000 students.
