    Calls upon people of Maharashtra to visit UP; appeals UP people to see Maharashtra

    Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais described Lord Rama as the strongest link connecting Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. Stating that Lord Rama born in Ayodhya had spent some part of his life in Panchvati in Maharashtra, he called upon the people to visit each other’s States to understand the cultural richness of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

    Governor Bais was speaking on the occasion of the Formation Day of Uttar Pradesh, celebrated for the first time in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan on Wed (24 Jan).

    The Uttar Pradesh State Formation Day was celebrated as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative of Government of India. The UP State Formation Day was celebrated in association with the Maharashtra State Skills University.

    Recalling the strong cultural relations between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh since mythological times, the Governor said, people of the country remember Kashi Vishweshwar and Trimbakeshwar in their morning prayers. He said Uttar Pradesh gave the nation maximum number of freedom fighters and revolutionaries, while also giving the nation writers, musicians, theater and film personalities. The Governor hailed the contribution of the people of Uttar Pradesh in the socio-economic development of Maharashtra, and particularly Mumbai.

    A cultural programme depicting Kajri, Braj Ki Holi, Ram Leela and Kathak was presented by the students of Maharashtra State Skill University on the occasion. Tejal Chaudhari made a Kathak presentation on the occasion. An audio visual film on Uttar Pradesh was shown on the occasion. The Governor felicitated the students of the Skills university.

    Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra State Skills University Dr Apoorva Palkar, Commissioner, Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Nidhi Chaudhari and members of faculty and students of Maharashtra State Skills University were present.
