Students from Sikkim meet Maha Governor under Op Sadbhavana
Governor of Maharashtra C. P. Radhakrishnan interacted with the students and teachers from various villages of Sikkim at Raj Bhavan Mumbai, as part of the National Integration Tour organized by the Sikkim University and Eastern Command of the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavna.
The Governor lauded the initiative of Indian Army led by Major Surjan Singh Negi and his team, describing it as an example of the Army’s commitment to fostering national unity alongside safeguarding the nation’s security.
The tour aims to connect young citizens from remote regions with diverse cultural experiences across India, promoting goodwill and strengthening the spirit of oneness.
Addressing the students, the Governor emphasized the importance of unity in diversity and encouraged students to draw inspiration from their journey, urging them to carry forward the message of integration and shared heritage to their communities.
Fifteen students and two teachers from Sikkim University took part in the interaction.
Sharing their excitement, the students said, “For the first time in our lives, we boarded an aircraft—a moment that felt like touching the skies of possibility. We’ve seen glimpses of Mumbai in films, but today, seeing this vibrant metropolis in person—its towering skyscrapers and the sea—has awakened a sense of pride and awe for our great nation.”
They further expressed, “We are overwhelmed by the love, warmth, and hospitality shown by the Governor. The affection we received here will forever be etched in our hearts.”
