Governor presides over the 11th Convocation of Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University at Ramtek
Honorary D.Litt. conferred on Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi
Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor of universities in the State Bhagat Singh Koshyari presided over the 11th Convocation of the Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University at Ramtek on Wed (21 Dec).
Vice Chancellor of the Central Sanskrit University New Delhi Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi, Head of Buddhist Studies at Nepal Sanskrit University, Kathmandu Prof. Kashinath Neupane, Officiating Vice Chancellor of the Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Prof. Madhusudan Penna, Registrar Dr. Ramchandra Joshi and Controller of Examination Dr. Smita Fadanavis were prominent among those present.
The Governor conferred the Honorary D. Litt. on Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi for his outstanding contribution to the field of Sanskrit, Indian Knowledge System and Higher Education. Dr. Rajendra Watane, Professor of Marathi in Taywade Arts College, Koradi, Nagpur was awarded D Litt in Research.
In all 3317 students were awarded degrees at the Convocation. The Governor also felicitated 15 candidates receiving their Ph.Ds and 41 recipients of Gold Medals and cash prizes.
