Himachal Pradesh State Foundation Day celebrated in Maharashtra Raj Bhavan
Governor announces reward of Rs.1 lakh each to BMC & State Skill University for excellent presentation
Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan presided over the ‘Himachal Pradesh State Foundation Day’ celebration and witnessed the cultural presentation organised by Maharashtra Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Mon (21 April).
Impressed by the excellent presentation of Pangi and Nati Dance from Himachal Pradesh by the students of BMC School and the Skill University, the Governor announced a prize of Rs. 1 lakh each to the University and the Sangeet Kala Academy of BMC.
The Himachal Pradesh State Foundation Day was organised in association with Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skill University and the Education Department of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The programme was held as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative of Government of India.
Students of the Ganesh Baug Municipal English School Kurla and the Kamgar Nagar Municipal Hindi School joined by the students of the State Skill University presented a cultural programme showcasing the folk dances and songs representing the culture of Himachal Pradesh.
Secretary to the Governor Dr. Prashant Narnavare delivered the welcome speech while Under Secretary Vikas Kulkarni proposed a vote of thanks.
Former Deputy Chief Minister of Puducherry Pethaperumal Velayudham, Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra State Skills University Dr. Apoorva Palkar, Deputy Secretary to the Governor S. Ramamoorthy, students of the Skills University, and office bearers of the Municipal Corporation’s Sangeet Kala Akademi were present.
