Governor presides over the ‘Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan Samman Ceremony’
Maharashtra and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat presided over the ‘Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan Samman Ceremony’ and presented the awards to selected local autonomous bodies from across the state for outstanding work in Environment protection.
The Governor released a “Coffee Table Book” based on the success stories of the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan, along with “The Climate Change Lexicon,” a Marathi–English environmental glossary.
State-level awards under Majhi Vasundhara Mission 4.0 and 5.0 were presented to various local self-government institutions from across the State by the dignitaries.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar; State Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Minister for Environment and Climate Change Pankaja Munde; Chief Secretary Rajesh Aggrawal; Secretary, Environment and Climate Change Department Jayshree Bhoj; Secretary to the Governor Dr Prashant Narnaware, Member Secretary MPCB M Devendra Singh, senior officials; and invited dignitaries were present.
The ‘Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan Samman Ceremony,’ was organized by the Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Maharashtra.
Addressing the members and officials of local autonomous bodies, Governor Acharya Devvrat called up on them to adopt natural farming to preserve environment and ensure sustainable future for the next generations.
